E.coli Test Kit
A Laboratory In A Box for the Detection, Enumeration, and Identification
of E. coli and Coliform Bacteria for The Non-Specialist Which
Requires No Prior Formal Training
Drop Out Plating E.coli and Coliform Bacteria. The Coliscan media
drops out many general bacteria with the target of the recovery
being total Coliform Bacteria: color coded growth of E.coli being
blue, other Coliform Bacteria pink. The Total Number (TN) of Coliforms,
including E.coli, should be counted as 1 organism: one Coliform
bacteria for enumeration purposes. The count of the General Bacteria
culture will be the higher count culture. Subtract the Coliform
count from the General bacteria count and you can approximate
the count of non-Coliform bacteria in your sample.
