Yeast of many species are cosmopolitan in the air of our homes and offices. 

 Yeast is the cause of many medical complications.

Tandem spore trapping, using two bioaerosol cassettes or one bioaerosol cassette and a viable 25mm cassette trap, shows results of the blow by of a bioaerosol cassette in a spore trap.

26 bioaerosol cassette and 20- 25mm cassette viable spore traps were used in this study. 15 liter per minute 10 minute 150 liter samples were taken.   The interesting fact is that none of the bioaerosol cassette reported any yeast. 5 laboratories were used to preform bioaerosol cassette analysis: no yeast. 18 of the viable samples grew yeast. The Easygel® has triple antibiotics to prevent the growth of bacteria.
     
     

Bioaerosol cassette glue spore traps evidently either do not trap yeast, or it is unrecognizable on a spore trap. Bioaerosol cassette blow by was measured utilizing tandem bioaerosol cassettes and viable spore traps using sterile 2X2 gauge in the trap. The results speak for themselves. Five different laboratories were used for spore trap analysis. All spore traps were 150 liter grab samples at 15 liters per minute 10 minute grab time. No bioaerosol cassette spore traps reported yeast and we recovered yeast from 18 of the 20 viable samples.

Where is the Yeast? We took 23 150 liter air test using tandem spore traps. Bioaerosol cassette were used as the primary grab sampler, a second in line grab sampler a 25mm cassette with a moistened sterile cotton filter was used in 20 of the air test. In 3 of the air test bioaerosol cassettes were used as the second grab sampling device.
     

Note on laboratories: 5 laboratories were used in this study. All laboratories are in the business of identifying various types of samples for Fungal count and identification according to their website. Laboratory reporting has disturbing differences in analysis and standards of reporting. 2 of the laboratories returned reports without bioaerosol cassette identification numbers, only descriptive locations. 1 laboratory refused to give a total m3 count. 1 laboratory reports CFU's (chains of spores). The laboratories were not told if they were analyzing first or second spore traps.
