The Solar Still

The solar still has been around for 130+ years. The solar still is a low volume water maker that makes distilled water. At SunDragon we have improved the solar still to make drinking water in volume 10-20 times as much water.

The hot feed water and recirculating feed water increases the volume of water produced. The condensate trough of our Solar Solution Water Maker has calcite in the trough to adjust the pH of the distilled water and convert the distilled water into drinking water

To make a solar desalinator a drinking water machine, add calcite (crushed marble) to the water collection trough and make drinking water.     The feed water, feed water recirculating, and brine drain lines are set inside the lined feed water well.The heated feed water (180-200 degrees F) is gravity fed into the evaporator water well and recirculated by pumping the evaporator water through the second solar water heater. The evaporator feed water should be kept at the 15 - 20 gallon level and constantly recirculating.           The condensate trough is fitted around the feed water well and is held in place by the outer frame of the solar evaporator.
